Led by Wendy Dek, an expert trainer with decades of experience, we use force-free, science-backed techniques to help dogs and their people communicate better, grow together, and create lasting bonds. Meet Wendy: A Lifetime of Training, Learning & Leading
Wendy’s journey with animals began in the fast-paced world of horse racing. At just 14, she was working with racehorses, breaking barriers in an industry that wasn’t welcoming to women. But Wendy persisted. By 1981, she became the youngest woman in Australia to earn a racehorse trainer’s license—proof that skill and determination can overcome any obstacle.
Her passion for animals led her to nearly 40 years as a Veterinary Nurse, where she deepened her understanding of animal behavior. But her real training journey started with a Doberman puppy named Jedda. Frustrated with outdated, punishment-based methods, Wendy sought a better, kinder way to train.
Force-Free, Science-Backed Training That Works
Determined to reshape the way dogs were trained, Wendy earned her Obedience Instructor’s Certificate and spent 10 years volunteering with the RSPCA. In 2001, she moved to Texas and introduced her Force-Free Puppy Program,running Puppy Pre-Schools at veterinary hospitals to help owners start their pups off right.
For 12 years, Wendy worked with Paws with a Cause, training service dogs for people with disabilities. Helping these dogs become life-changing companions was one of her most rewarding experiences.
In 2010, Wendy’s expertise was recognized by world-renowned trainer Victoria Stilwell. She became part of Victoria’s Positively Dog Trainers team, earning certification as the first force-free trainer in the Dallas/Fort Worth mid-cities area.
